Nervous going in. Ready coming out.

Two hours of practice changes how a teen walks into the room. Here's what that looks like.

Before the class

  • "Um, I don't really have any experience…"
  • Lets the phone ring. And ring.
  • Freezes when a customer gets upset.
  • Hears feedback as "you're bad at this."

After the class

  • Handshake, eye contact and a question ready for them.
  • "Thank you for calling, this is Jordan, how can I help?"
  • Lowers their voice, repeats back, offers what they can do.
  • "Thanks for letting me know." Then does it better.

If you're the teen

  • Learn what employers wish teens knew, before your first shift.
  • Walk into interviews ready for the tough questions.
  • Handle a rude customer without freezing or taking it personally.
  • Leave with a toolkit to use the night before your interview.

If you're the parent

  • Real-world preparation that's hard to fit into a dinner-table conversation.
  • Built by business owners who employ teens and know what matters on the job.
  • Two focused hours in person, with role-play instead of lectures.
  • A take-home toolkit, so the lessons don't disappear by Monday.

Eight skills, practised out loud

Small groups, real scenarios, real feedback. No screens and no videos on repeat.

Hundreds
of teen interviews and first-time hires

Created by people who hire teens every year

We own Foam Fighters, an Edmonton business that's been running for over eight years. More than 90% of our staff are youth, so we've sat through hundreds of teen interviews and watched the same challenges come up again and again.

We've also raised two kids into adulthood. We built the Starter Pack around what we've seen work, so every class covers what we wish every teen knew before their first shift.

Questions parents ask

What age range is this for?

Teens 13 to 19. We keep groups age-appropriate and adjust examples to match the room.

Do they need any experience?

None. Most of our teens are getting ready for their very first application, which is exactly who this is built for.

Where is it, and how long?

Two hours, in person at Foam Fighters, 9767 45 Ave NW, Edmonton. Free parking on site.

Is there homework?

No homework. Every teen leaves with a digital toolkit and reference material to practise with before an interview.

What's the cancellation policy?

Full refund up to 7 days before class. Within 7 days, we'll move your spot to any open date in the next 90 days.

What happened to Level One and Level Two?

We combined the best of both into one class, The Starter Pack: interview skills and first-shift basics, plus staying calm with upset customers, taking initiative and handling feedback.

Can we book for a class or group?

Yes. Schools, youth programs and sponsors can email ask@foamfighters.ca and we'll plan a session around your group.

Does this mean my teen will be hired at Foam Fighters?

No. It's an independent program that gives teens the skills to get hired anywhere, not a direct path to a job with us.
